Meet Our Team
Dr. Douglas Orr, D.C., M.S.
Chiropractic Physician
Dr. Orr has always had an interest in science and the health care profession. This interest led Dr. Orr to earn both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Biology from Youngstown State University. After his Masters program, Dr. Orr then worked at a research facility, studying toxicology; however, this is where he began to develop chronic low back pain from leaning and bending a good duration of the day.
The pain nagged him day and night and Dr. Orr finally decided to go to a chiropractor to get this problem figured out. After one treatment his back pain instantly went away and after a few treatments, he was back to his old self.
Dr. Orr was amazed at how effective the treatments were! The chiropractor was friendly and seemed to really enjoy his profession. Dr. Orr decided to spend some time in the chiropractor’s office observing the doctor treat his patients. All of the doctor’s patients seemed pleased with his treatments, and many of them stated how much the chiropractor had helped them. After some deep thought, Dr. Orr decided that he wanted to help others get back to feeling like themselves like the chiropractor had done for him.
Dr. Orr studied for 4 years at Logan College of Chiropractic achieving his Doctorate in 2014. Since that time, Dr. Orr has had the opportunity to help many people, which is what motivates him every day. He has seen many people come into the office with low back pain, headaches, numbness in the hands, and many other conditions people had been suffering with for sometimes years.
“I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to work in a profession that helps people naturally to get well. Every day presents a new challenge to learn and grow, as well as, an opportunity to help others experience the same relief I’ve had.”
Katie Adams, LMT
Massage Therapist
Katie brings 12 years of massage experience to the clinic. Katie previously worked at another amazing chiropractic office in Cleveland but took time off to move back to Stow to be closer to family and welcome a new daughter to her family. She was ready to get back to the work she loves and we were lucky to snag her.
Katie offers THE BEST deep tissue medical massages. We often hear people say “Ohhh, it hurt SO GOOD!” She works with patients to find the perfect level of pressure EACH appointment and brings relief to exactly where you need it.
When she’s not bringing people the relief they need she enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters and son swimming, traveling and doing home improvement projects.
Becky Rupert-Orr, M.S., M.B.A.
Marketing and Office Manager
Becky, Dr. Orr’s wife, studied at Youngstown State University earning both her BS and MS in biology. After college, Becky worked for the Fortune 25 company, Procter and Gamble, for 10 years. For the first 8, she did market research and product development for the Iams dog and cat food brand. It was during this time that she decided she loved business and went back to school to get her MBA from Wright State University focusing on Marketing and Management. For her last two years with P&G she managed a quality assurance laboratory that produced products like Swiffer, Febreze, Mr. Clean and Cascade. After the birth of their first son, Becky decided to “stay home” to take care of their son while he was young.
Becky wasn’t always a believer in chiropractic care. She grew up in a very small town in NE Ohio in a family that was fairly skeptical of chiropractic care. If you didn’t feel well you went to the medical doctor not the chiropractor for medicine. And if someone experienced back pain or headaches you first tried to hide the symptoms with as much Aleve or Excedrine Migraine as the bottle would allow and then if the pain didn’t let up it was time to get a full workup from your MD. But after Doug announced that he wanted to pursue a career in chiropractic she decided she better go and “test out” the product. She had a lifetime of headaches and two full works ups including CT scans and MRI’s by medical doctors and not one had ever recommended chiropractic care for her headaches. So when she first visited her local chiropractor and he said he thought he could significantly decrease her headaches she rolled her eyes. But he took x-rays and showed her where there was a slight misalignment that was more than likely causing her headaches. After her first few adjustments much to her disbelief her headache became fewer and farther between. She now tries to stay on a regular adjustment schedule to keep her spine in great shape to keep the headaches at bay.
In her spare time, Becky enjoys spending time with Dr. Orr and their daughter and three boys, hiking, and training dogs.
